Bridge of Hope Recovery

What we believe.
What we stand for.

This is not a policy document. It is a set of promises.

Our north star

Every fellowship has values. What matters is whether those values show up in the room at 3am when someone is barely holding on, or whether they only exist on a page like this one. We wrote this page because we want to be held accountable to it. Not by administrators or oversight bodies. By you.

If you ever find that what is written here does not match what you experience here, we want to know. This is a living document. It belongs to the community that lives inside it.

Why we exist.

To be present for every person who has ever needed somewhere to turn and found the door closed. To build the room that should have existed. To make sure that no one who is ready to heal has to do it alone because they cannot afford it, cannot access it, or cannot find language for what they survived.

That is not a statement we wrote to sound good in a grant application. It is the reason this fellowship exists at all. The people who built this place know what it costs to need something that does not exist. To reach for a door in the dark and find no handle. To survive something and then have to survive the silence around it too.

We exist because that gap is real and because filling it is possible. Not with money. Not with credentials. With people who have been there and chose to stay reachable for the next person who needs them.

What we are here to do.

We believe that survivors helping survivors is one of the most powerful forces for healing that exists. We hold space without hierarchy, without conditions, and without a clock on your progress. Every experience is welcome here. Every person who walks through this door matters. We do not give up on people and we do not ask them to give up on themselves.

The word solidarity gets used a lot in spaces like this. What we mean by it is simple: we do not compete with each other's pain. We do not rank suffering. We do not decide that some experiences are more deserving of a seat than others. You bring what you bring. This community holds it with you.

Hope is not something we perform here. It is something that happens when one person who has survived something witnesses another person surviving the same thing. It is not manufactured. It is the natural result of people being honest with each other in a room where honesty is safe.

Not a replacement. An addition.

Bridge of Hope Recovery is not a company. It is not an organization with a board or a budget or a headquarters. It is not a charity that accepts donations. There is no exchange of money within this fellowship. Every cost of keeping this place running is covered by members who choose to contribute as an act of service, freely, without expectation or recognition.

We are not a replacement for therapy, medication, or professional mental health support. We are not equipped to be. What we are is the thing that exists alongside those things, or sometimes instead of them when access is not possible, that holds you in the spaces between appointments, between breakthroughs, between the moments when professional help is available and the moment you need it right now.

There is no waiting room. There is no appointment. There is no cost. Meetings run throughout the week by phone, by video, and in person where local communities have grown. Check the calendar to find one that fits where you are right now.

What you can hold us to.

These are not aspirations. They are the floor. The minimum of what this fellowship owes every person who walks through the door.

  • Anonymity. You choose your name. That name is the only name this community will ever know you by. Your real identity, your location, your history outside these walls. Yours alone, always. No one will ask. No one is entitled to it.
  • No hierarchy. There are no sponsors here. No levels. No badges of progress that put one person above another. The person who dialed in for the first time tonight has as much right to be heard as the person who has been hosting meetings for three years. Every voice carries equal weight.
  • No topic off limits. The things that cannot be said in other rooms can be said here. Not because we have no standards. We have clear communication boundaries to protect everyone in the space. But because shame thrives in silence and we are not in the business of keeping shame comfortable.
  • Radical inclusivity. All experiences of trauma are welcome here. All beliefs, orientations, identities, and backgrounds. All of them. Without exception, without asterisk, without a quiet hierarchy that makes some people more welcome than others.
  • Free. Always. Not free with a donation button at the bottom of the page. Not free unless you want premium features. Free. Full stop. Without condition, without pressure, without ever making a member feel that their financial situation determines their access to support.
  • Community-sustained. Volunteer-driven and member-sustained. The people who keep this place running are the people who have been helped by it. That is the whole model. There is no other infrastructure. That is not a weakness. It is the point.

"Healing is not a destination. It is something that happens between people who are honest with each other in a place where honesty is safe."

Come as you are

This is what we believe. This is what we are building toward. On the days we fall short of it, we want to be told. On the days we get it right, we want you to feel it without needing to be told.

The measure of a fellowship is not what it says about itself. It is whether the person who showed up barely holding on found something real when they got here.

We are trying to be worth finding. Every day. For every person who needs us.
